About the Author

Rebeca Lee Morales was born in Cape Charles, Virginia and raised in Michigan. Her mother was a onetime missionary in the Yucatán, and her father was a pastor. She was first encouraged to write a novel-length work by Robert Morgan, author of Gap Creek, while attending a fiction writing course with Nancy E. Turner, in Tucson, Arizona. It was there that she began crafting narrative quests of paradise lost and the precarity of earthly justice. In autumn of 2004, she moved to the Pacific Northwest, where she still resides. Winter Song is her debut novel.
